yep, a kit would be best for you. Must haves are: relay, waterproof connections, thermostatic switch. But rather than "make it" id buy a kit, call summit racing and see what they can do for you, have your radiator dimensions ready in advance.

oh and i have a 16in ish flexalite fan... will have to check on specs, using the built in thermostatic switch, no wiring needed for temp sensor, no switches.

the bad of this fan: Drains the battery....
It stays on until it reaches its "viable temp" i have it set to on at 180F, so if the trucks at 200F, I shut it down and park, it remains on until it reads that the radiators at 180F.....its nice because here in cali we'll get 115F summers, and on the blacktops, truck gets hot! so when i park its nice to come back to a WARM truck, and not a HOT truck.....
