The brass is for the vent hoses...I don't have any pics too share. Try and search this site we have talked about this before so it should be here somewere...
I installed a poly tank long time ago and the only mod I had to do was the filler neck on the poly tank is much shorter than the steel one. So you will need a longer fill hose.
