I can tell you that any B or D-body from '94-96 can come with a 10 bolt 8.5" rear --- but only a certainty if it is a limited slip (posi) unit. B/D-body is the Chevy Caprice, Buick Roadmaster, and Caddy Fleetwood. GM offered both limited slip and open diffs those years -- but did not offer a B or D-body with RPO G80 (limited slip) those years ('94-96) that was not 8.5". However, the open diffs were sometimes the smaller 7.XX". So make sure you can confirm it's a G80 unit and you will be good to go. One thing to note, those 8.5" posi units were Auburn units and do not hold up to abuse. Even if you get a good one, a few uneven burnouts will kill it (and they are not serviceable). If you have the cash, and you end up with one of these, it is better to replace the carrier with an Eaton (serviceable) unit. I once gave a burned up G80 unit out of one of my 9C1s to a mechanic who put it in his G-body. I told him it was toast, but he didn't care. To this day, I don't understand why he wanted a worn out unit, maybe perhaps it was the cheapest way he could go with 8.5" gears?
