1972 Chevy C10 "OrngsikL"

About 2 weeks ago, I sold my 2008 GMC extended cab short bed, dropped 4/6. To fund this project. (no more note either!!)

Found the truck on craigslist in Mississippi, contacted the PO a few times by email. Me and a good buddy left one morning, with a trailer, and me full of doughnuts and redbull, after working nights to go get it. I was tired, but it was worth the drive.

here's a shot of the craigslist ad.

took about 2.5 hours to get there from home, we rolled up and seen it, checked it out and took it for a few spins.

loaded it up and headed back home, had a guy ask to buy it at the gas station in mississippi. But we kept on rolling.

I couldn't stop looking behind the truck, It was like christmas morning.

Got the truck home.

She's got some rust, but not much.

Not sure what the steering wheel came out of? Pontiac??

I think i've had it about two weeks. Since then i've checked all the rear lights, got them working. Pulled the dent out of the drivers door, not perfect, but just for the time being, we wanted to see how bad it was and I will have to replace it.

Got the coolant temp and battery voltage aftermarket gauges hooked up to make sure all that is working. Truck runs a 160 with airflow and 190 idling, so i'm good there. Battery voltage shoots up to about 16V while cruising and around 12V while idling, not sure of this is right or if the gauge is off a bit?? Haven't hooked up my volt meter to the line yet. Had an oil leak at the sending unit line going to the gauge in the cluster, it was loose, tightened it up and no more oil leak. The oil dip stick was leaking too, needed an o-ring. Replaced the driver side motor mount a few days ago.
Overall the truck runs damn good. Took it on about a 30 mile trip the other day and the only problem I had was the voltage gauge started bouncing from 12 to 18v, pulled over and we smelled something burning, but couldn't find anything smoking or wires hot to the touch. Got back in and kept going with no more issues. I had a fire extinguisher in the truck just in case..haha.

Motor is a 350 with a mild cam, holley 650 carb, edelbrock intake and some longtubes going into dual flowmasters. It lopes real good. I don't know anything about the internals. History on the motor is that it was in a monte carlo SS that the PO was friends with the owner and the owner of the mcss wanted a big block right after he finished this engine, so the PO got it and swapped it in, said to have 30k on the motor.

The transmission is a th-350. Said to have been rebuilt recently. We used an online calcualtor based off of mph from my phone gps (dash gauge is working but not accurate, off by about 10-15 mph) and i'm thinking the rear end had around 4.10 gears.

Ordered a few parts the other day from sokyclassics.com
Got a turn signal cam, gear shift indicator and all the parts that make it function, front bumper hardware, electrical wiring manual and hood stop bumpers.

Got bored the other day before pulling the dent and layed some paint on the tailgate

I've been pinstriping for about 3 years now but it's been a full year since i've pinstriped anything. Gotta get back in it.

Future plans - they're on the way. Just keep watching...
