Re: 1969 C10 SWB Stepside - Big Block project

Dad and I have been studying paints, how to mix and technique. We had my grille very very close to perfect and the clear coat reacted a little. We're going to re-blast and try again.

The engine and trans are bolted back together and ready to drop in. I am just waiting for a decent weekend to clean my frame rails back off so we can bolt it all back up.

I will be using a color called Speedway white for the grille and top. It is a creamy white color off a 2001+ Corvette. It almost looks white but it a very cool shade .. like a Vanilla color.

I am a bit undecided on the color of the truck as this will be my first true all over paint job. I want something different and I saw a VW at the airport this morning. I could just see it on a 68 stepper. It is a silver'ish blue color called Horizon Blue. I'll post up some pics in a little while. It would be killer with the cream color and my gray wheels / black buckets.
