I would think this problem could be overcome with a variety of tunes for the motor. If you are going to tow and be under a heavy load on pump gas, lower the boost and keep it reliable. If you're going to the track with race gas, pour the fuel and boost to it and have fun. It depends on what engine management system you're planning on using, but there are lots of reliable factory turbocharged gas motors on the market.
