Re: TBI slow to return to idle

I noticed the from a stop the converter holds the engine rpm very low. Maybe my computer compensates for this and tries to raise the engine speed. This struggle continues and then, when I put it in park, the engine jumps up and then takes the 10 seconds to return. This is only a theory, but if someone rebuilt this trans years ago and put a "heavier" converter in it is could cause the low rpm stain.

assuming you have 700r4 if your driving steady speed steady throttle pressure down the high tap the brake does the rpm go up ~300 rpm

if so the tcc is working properly

The IAc is working because when the selector is shifted from park to any gear the rpm will adjust

check out the tuning tables for idle adder in park
