Re: Chopped 84 C10 Resto/Rebuild

The Bad Parts:
- Both lower door panels have cancer
- Cab has some cancer where it was chopped
- Small spot on left cab corner
- Both lower rear bed sides have cancer
- Need new cut front glass
- Need new front fenders
- Need hood and cowl
- Need new lower control arms

The Good:
- Have all patch panels
- Have ordered all my parts I need for truck minus hood, fenders, cab roof for repairs, and tail light fillers. A nice $2k order.
- Have new wiring harness with fuse box and loom
- Have new fuel feed and return line hardware, pump, and filter for fuel system overhaul
- Have FatMat sound deadening for lower half of cab, doors, and floor.

Progress so far:
- Doors off truck, stripped, and patches stitched on minus shaved mirrors and handles
- Right lower Bed side patched
- Interior stripped & floor painted with Miracle Paint (Rust preventing paint)
- Heater removed - Going with Summit small heater for defrosters only

Next Steps:
- Patch lower left bed side
- Patch left cab corner
- Fill in heater side of firewall and smooth it
- Smooth doors to get ready for primer
- Smooth rest of patched areas to ready them for primer
- Get cab roof for donor parts needed - Left pillar and upper window channel

Progress Pics:

I am blessed with a father that grew up in a body shop and fixed totals on the side. He has a nice garage that he built for his retirement that has all I need to work on my tuck. Also I am learning a lot from him on body repair. I am in IT for my career, but I have always been a motor head growing up. We just returned from Charlotte, NC where we were at the Food Lion Auto Fair. That was a really cool shindig at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. I would suggest that you make it down there next year if you can swing the trip. Anyways I am pretty tired from the drive back and will give some more updates tomorrow on plans that I have for the truck and any progress I make on it after work.
