The wheels you are referring to are generally identified as car rallyes. There were other style rallyes made by GM as well,but the 5 slots are the more popular ones and came on the most cars. Truck rallyes is what we call the ones made for...trucks! All rallyes have slots,although the type that came on Rallye Novas,Camaro SS396,etc where more of a square hole:

There were also spoke-type but usually known by other names like Z28 wheels or SS wheels or 5-spoke rallyes:

These are all from this era. There were later styled wheels known as rallyes,but we won't get into all that
