I say go without. If you have a relatively stock 350 and full 2" pipes over the axle, they are not too loud. I have had 2 late model fuel injected with cats and no mufflers and they sound really "tinny" (89 IROC Z and my 83 K20). They need a flowmaster or something chambered to break up the sound. I have had glasspacks on a few vehicles, but honestly good quality turbo mufflers like Walker Dynomax have enough noise to make me happy, enough free flow to keep the engine happy, and a good rumble. The turbo mufflers have less backpressure than most glasspacks. My .02
