I made my own flip kit using another pair of universal spring perches welded to the axle tubes and I am NOT running a C-notch kit and I have yet to have the axle tubes touch the frame. I don't even have bump stops. During my 2wd conversion I placed the rear hangers 4" further back than stock to allow me to use 56" long springs from a 3/4 ton (with a few leafs removed), stock Blazers have 52" length springs.

I am not saying a C-notch kit isn't a good idea, but it might not be required.
