Re: blazer hatch vs suburban hatch

The Suburban hatch is all steel. The Blazer hatch is fiberglass w/steel fittings. It's also at a more raked angle forward, than the Blazer, since the Blazer rear tailgate is the same as a Fleetside pickup's -- at right angles. The locking mechanism on the Sub hatch is in the lower tailgate. One push button.
The side locking catches on the Sub have 4 bolts. [Some K/5s have 3 bolt catches. '70 -'71 ?]The mechanism is very similar, and a Sub catch could be modified with a grinder to fit a K/5 hatch on the opposite side from its Suburban-original orientation. I don't know if anyone is repoping the hatch-catches.
If there is any hatch difference between single wall and double wall models, I don't know. I only own a double wall.
