Here is a mod I just finished a few weeks ago. I took the old B&M shifter out of the truck and replaced it with a 2000 S-10 Blazer shifter. It has 2 cup holders as well.
The shifter has the brake solenoid wiring hooked up as well but with a little twist. I have a switch hidden so that if I drive it someplace and leave it I can cut it off and even if you get it cranked you can't get it out of park.

A little anti theft prevention can go a long ways.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
