Is it possible to move the clamps to the inside of the truck and have nothing but the rubber hose on the outside? My application was different since I ran mine out through the vent so not sure if there is any reason you couldn't bring those hose clamps inside.

As for water proof, I would think the only thing you would have to worry about is when you wash the engine bay. Driving down the road shouldn't throw water up in there. Maybe you could use some of that sticky wrap they include with their kit to create a barrier from inside. None on the outside of the firewall of course.
