As far as bleeding the brakes, I don't necessarily subscribe to the notion that this indicates the guy didn't take care of other things. I'm pretty darn mechanically inclined (and take good care of my truck), and I did do a brake and rotor job on a car with someone a few years back, and I've done it on Harley's, but for some reason it seems like a pain in the ass to me, and I procrastinate it. Maybe it's because it requires your wife to pump the brake, and you have to hear her b!tch about her legs getting sore. Maybe it's because it can be finicky and get air in the lines.
