A buddy of mine used to run an FJ40 with a 327. Bolted right up. I have often wondered why GM never hooked up the 292 in the K/5 body? I know it takes a special 292-specific cross-member on the 4 wheel drive frames.
Two-fifties were what you got if you didn't fill in the SBC upgrade on the dealer RPO form.

Every 25 years I like to rebuild that 292, whether it needs it or not.
