Lol. I'm thinking that you're over thinking it. Use the stock pushrod (screw it all the way in to start) and put in the doohickey and bleed the brakes. Then adjust the pushrod once you have appropriately bled brakes.

That's A LOT of pushrod, screwing & doohickey references.
