Most of the ones I've seen (even the ones done by really good metal men) end up making the windshield look out of place. The drip rail on these trucks serves to divide the roof line from the windshield frame. When you remove it and blend them together, the windshield placement looks too low and the leading edge of the roof too thick and heavy. The areas around the door window frames will also need considerable work to get the gaps correct. From pictures I've seen on the forum, the side view can be made to look fairly nice. I have a more difficult time with the front view.

IMO, if the drip rail is somewhat ratty, a more practical solution is to buy the $120 stainless trim set and snap it on. Hides beaucoup evil. However, I do recognize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some guys like roll pans, some like bumpers. It's what makes this big ol' ball of dirt go around.
