I have a 250 in mine and it has always made a tapping noise, like a loud sewing machine. It took me forever trying to track down an exhaust leak before my grandfather (whose truck it was) told me that its just the noise from the lifters and has always done that haha. I do not know if its true, or there is a problem somewhere but it always just ticks right along, even after an oil change/valve adjustment.
