I was thinking of the thermostat housing thing also, the problem there is that the flow is intermittent. I suppose the head plug hole could be tapped out but I'm not sure if there is enough room without loosening the header and it's not the easiest spot to work in for drilling a large hole in cast iron. If I was to drill something out for this I'd do it in the intake. I think the OEM sensor was the same part # through 1986. I wonder what the 1987 one looks like and that would be the same gauges as the 1986 truck, probably, I think. Need to look into this more.
