Ok, that may explain my need to move the front track so far forward.
I drilled the 4 spot welds, cut the slot and relocated the track in the slot. I just never removed the bracket from the bottom of the rear track, just spot welded it back to the door in the new position. I then had to move the bottom of the new front track forward about 1-1/2" to get the window to go down all the way. It works okay, just left me a mess of holes to weld up and do body work on.
I bet if I'd cut that bracket, I could have kept the front track at the first place I drilled for it.
I'll get this figured out...just in time to never do it again. Thanks for your help.
