my 75 used to do that hard, and it was the left caliper locked up. I have heard of guys having the brake hoses collapse, but it has never happened to me. If you are going to lift it, get a set of the stanless braided brake hoses and that will be one less thing to worry about, and you will not have to worry about them being too short.
