Sharp observers will notice that I'd gotten the good side and the bad side switched, end result that I had the teeth meshed improperly and the hood didn't quite shut.
Spent an extra 20 minutes adjusting the mesh and now the hood shuts properly.
I also figured out a better way to get the hood on and off, instead of He-Maning it. 4 cargo straps, one for each corner of the hood, slung over the rafters of the garage. Open the hood, pull each corner *just* tight. Hood stays just in place to be taken on / off with no real labor on my part.
