Its hard to tell in person from more than a few feet away except that I didn't grind the welds inside the bed and there is no filler on the bedsides at all so if you look close you can see the weld seams where I ground them down and the small amount of shrinkage from the welding. I didn't do any finish work at all besides grinding the outside welds smooth.

Thats a bit of talent if its that had to tell and you did no prep. That speaks worlds of how well you finished it. I need to do some similar work on mine on rockers he welded but never smoothed them out bugs me to death but how did you go about blending for the patina?
