You're making some major progress.
Looking at the motor mount crossmember and bellhousing crossmember, I would say that a small block was in there utilizing the motor mounts linked to above, with the '73+ exhaust manifolds.
Personally I would change the differential to either a 14 bolt or Dana 70 with 4.10 gears. I would still go with a 4L80E. However if you are planning on some tall tires a 4.56 gear may be better.
