pinion angle is about the angles between the trans, drive shaft and rear. You could do it on a hillside it doesn't change the drive shaft to pinion angles.

What does matter is it the ride height being where you want it and is it at the curb weight you want. Don't set it and then decide to put the 800 lbs bed on it.
