Minor progress tonight. Almost ashamed to post the crappy photos. The previous owner replaced the original 2bbl carb with a Rochester 2jet off of a 1972 Pontiac 350. This resulted in a throttle linkage turned 90 degrees from the original, which he "solved" by zip tying the cable housing to the brake booster!
I cut all of that crap off and welded up a little bracket that bolts to the carb base. It may still need some fine tuning, but at least it won't snap like a zip tie!
