I've owned a 65, a 66, 7 67, 2 69' with big blocks, but never a 68. My family put 400K on the 67, never had the heads or oil pan off the 250. I personally put 2 interiors into it including the black cloth one out of a Cparice that was wrecked at 39k.
I love your car, and that floor is really is clean. Do be sure to check the frame just in front of the control arms, favorite rust and break location. Definitely add the bars, will really help the handling.
My 69 396 car came with discs, 14" snows and 15" fronts, was in a world of hur when I went to put my 60's on the back and neede da spare on the front. I did confirm the 14's would not fit over the calipers!
