That is almost exactly how I started to do mine and the mount you used is the same as mine, and then I had this bright idea that I wanted to push the column back to give myself more belly room. I am still using the same mount but I am now joining the old mount to the new mount since it is much further back at about the spot that I see you cut out of the original mount.
