that is a hard question to answer. the rear axle will take almost anything you can find to put on it in dot tires.

i would have an issue with any bar type ag tire on the 44. maybe something in the 33" range at max. you will still tear up the axle.

in dot tires if i was planing to run it hard and ruthless, i would go no higher than 35, depending on the tire and width. play smart, i might be ok with 37s. but it depends on how you drive and what terrain you are mudding in, other modifications, etc. 12" lift is more space than you will need if you want to run tires that wont kill your axle.
