Just a real interesting thread to read....imagine the worker writing numbers/codes all day long, every day of the year for who knows how many years? Hence, the messages from the "paint boys" mentioned above.

I pulled a wood floor LWB off the frame a couple days ago and there had obviously been an 8 1/2 inch piece of paper taped over the header (facing the cab) when they sprayed the red paint. What do you suppose it said; "paint this one red"? Was it a practical joke? Who knows? The outline/silhouette is perfect, even showing the serrated edge on the tape where it had been torn from the roll.

Where are those assembly line guys that stood there for so many years writing w/their grease pencils so they could unlock the secrets for us today?

Is there anyone on the board who worked on the line and actually assembled these trucks at one of the plants?
