OK so the 1955 288, 1956 317, and 1957 347 engines all look pretty much identical; I do have a 56' 317 that is supposed to be a good running engine according to the previous owner, and I do know its not locked up - hasn't been driven in years, but still sitting in the 56 GMC it came in - never removed. These are not the plentiful Chevy engines, so they are considerably rarer and more costly. This 317 is 400.00 if you decide you want to consider it.
