Re: 1971 GMC SWB "No Direction" LS build

I should be getting my 700r4 trans back from rebuild Tuesday and have been ordering a ton of miscellaneous hard parts, etc for the motor install.

Recently, I've purchased a lockout kit from Monster Transmission in FL, starter and alternator bolts from GM Parts Direct and a litany of stuff from Summit including but not limited to:

Exhaust manifold bolts
MSD Street Fire Plug Wires
AC Delco Spark Plugs
ARP Torque Converter bolts
ARP Bellhousing bolts
Autometer Metric Oil Pressure Adapter (for adapting a mechanical oil pressure gauge)
Carter Electric Fuel Pump w/ internal regulator
Russell Inline Fuel Filter
Lug nuts for the rally wheels
Earl AN to Metric adapter fitting for power steering
Russell Braided Stainless Power Steering hose kit

Still need to shorten driveshaft and get everything I need to run power steering with the LS. After that, we'll be looking at exhaust and switching over to power brakes (still not sure if I'm going to leave the rear drums or go to disc). then suspension. then wheels/tires. then body/paint and interior (prob next year).

But let's not get ahead of ourselves....let's just hope to have an engine that fires in the next week or two.
