I am trying to do this really cheap because I hope to swap out the 307/th350 with an LT1/4L60e this summer ...to build a new shaft cost $250 but they'll cut one down for $50+. . . besides, it will be the wrong length when I swap drivetrain and when Im done I can maybe pass it along to another 67-72 PU member who is running a SBC/TH350 combo ..
4l60 is longer then a TH350. You will be able to cut it down a second time.

Check mid 80's Doge full size vans from the mid 80's. I think (not positive) that they had a single peice aluminum shaft. If the U-jopints are the same size then you can just swap the correct yoke on and be ready to go.
