The one in that pic appears to be an 81-83 bezel and wouldn't be a good fit up against an 80 or earlier dash pad.
I can tell it's an 81+ bezel by the shape of the upper corners. Also notice how there is a "stepped down" area between the upper and lower sections. That's another characteristic of the 81+ bezels that I forgot to mention earlier.

And here's a 78-80 bezel the brushed aluminum trim that was originally used in Silverado & Sierra Classic trucks (and optional in some other trim levels too I think).
