I have heard horror stories about guys trying to save a few bucks and using 90w gear oil and burning the trans up. On the 94 I drained the fluid and guess what? Thick 90w oil ran out! Parted that truck and made money, since it wasn't wrecked.

I said the same thing when we made the deal the correct fluid is critical from everything ive read .
