I do a lot of it on the bosses generosity. Having the knowledge and know how but not being able to apply it for yourself would be a bit of a pain. I think my boss values the fact that I can operate everything at the shop with productive capacity, but since I don't always do it, off the clock practice is good for the shop too. Either way I'm lucky I get to play with the toys. Word about the ol water cooler is, a big five axis milling center is on its way to our corner of the world. We'll be the only machine that isn't black in four hundred miles with the capacity it has. I don't hold any hopes of getting the keys to that play house, but I can design and have the shop cut it. This might make life hard... Haha. Now that I think of it, it should be able to cut wheels...
