Les - I have not repaced my park brake cable.
I don't use it often and when I do it doesn't quite return all the way, allowing the pedal to drop down slightly. I've found if I keep the pedal up then it will release completely over time.
On an unrelated note I had to put a water pump on the truck this weekend. I took the opportunity to install the fan shroud that you sent. Thank you very much for that; it is a welcome addition, as my original was pretty busted up.
