industruial engines were available from all the mjor vehicle manufacturers. inluding chevy sbc and bbc's.
nobody in thier right mind would tool up for a chevy 327 and compete directly with chevy in that market. not cost effectice nor sensible.
do what pleases you regarding your truck
peronally I would rethink the 4 speed/t221 combo behind a supercharged 327
since its no longer origonal and thats a weak combo, you might consider an nv4500/205.
people still using those 221's would be the most greatfull people knowing that another one may still be around for the future. you blow it up?
