he hasn't found a buryer for it in the few years he had it I doubt that they are lining up around the block for it

if you automaticly offer him $2000 or so for it you'll never get it cheap

I would not ever worry about insulting him with a loball cash offer let him try out his big boy pants and fix something on it if he thinks it's worth big money
