Re: 84 GMC straight 6 repower

Welcome to the site, and nice looking project! You definitely have some good parts there! My 76 has a D70 rear and I'm just going to run it until it blows. I typically like to run a D80 for the larger brakes, and strength. But, I don't have anymore, and I need other things more importantly. I built a couple customer trucks that have 650hp+ engines in them and the D70's have been taking their abusing just fine. Also, I built a 88 V2500 suburban and used the Dodge 70 from the donor. The owner hauls a heavy dump trailer loaded pretty heavy, it has 35's and 3:54's, and as far as I know, it's still going strong. So I figure I can make this D70 last a while too.
