It went easier than I thought, but I couldn't see any way of feeding the molded, half moon shaped plug through the small opening in the housing. I ended up making a clean cut near the dash connection and resplicing the wires back together. Turned out pretty good I think.

It has been a few years ago but I think I did it by removing the pins from the half moon connector by just depressing the little tab. I wrote down the color and what hole they were in. If I had to do that today I would just take a cell phone photo of it.
