My longhorn , is a "long dong", @ 73 1/2 "....no chance on a 1 pc shaft! in your app, you can find a shaft used, & have it shortened/balanced. This will be the cheapest route....altho, I do agree with Frank...re tube/build, is the best way to go. If you plan to spin it up (rev),with low gears you can also go with a larger diameter tubing to help with the "critical speed" (whip). Longhorn
