4" lift springs up front with a shackle flip out back seems to be the sweet spot for a K5. Or at least it has been for me. My 75 wheeled great with that combination. Highway road manners didn't really differ from stock. You don't have to get a 6" lift to run 35's. At most if you get a flexy set of front springs you might have to clearance the front corners of the fenders for clearance for turning under full stuff.
Personally, I prefer running the larger tire like a 35" with the 4" lift over a 6" lift to keep the center of gravity lower.
