It's not just the young (but it may be more prevalent). I was sighting my muzzle loader at 100 yrds and an older gent was sighting his shot gun at the 50. We use slug guns here, so it was scoped. I could see he was struggling to get it sighted and watched him do it wrong several times. I offered to help but he "knew what he was doing." I told him he was way too close to the scope and was about to get hurt. Again he "knew what he was doing." Next shot his cap flew off, followed by cussing, followed by D*** I was too close! He packed up and left to get stiches.
