Strongly suggest starting with a 502 GMPP short block. With a head with about 305-330 cc intake and cam around .56-.58 lift and about 260-270 duration at .050. That should easly support your wants.I was going to build something along these lines.I decided to change because with that much low end torque spining tires would become annoying. I looked into Air Flow Research Cylinder heads and they have a "package" that produces 470 ftlbs. torque and 450 hp. with 400+ ftlbs. from 2500 up. I figure this will get me in the low 13s maybe high 12s. If I need more, I will go on the bottle.
