I was thinking about that on my '53 I'm building with an LT1 also. I have done some searching on Rockauto pertaining to a vette radiator but they're isn't much difference in size. That would be my only change to find one a little smaller, I have not regreated cutting the front panel down. It makes it so much more easier to work on the motor. Keep watching my new build Freddy's part 2 if I come up with a solution. It may be a while, I am starting from the rear on that build going to the front.
