I have never installed a C10 windshield and so my apologies in advance because probably there is a slim chance that this is any help

But on my VW's the glass will be loose without the trim installed - once the trim is pushed into the rubber (after installing the glass ha ha), that little 1/16th all the way around the window makes a difference.
