Over the weekend, we ordered some more stuff including patch panels to fix a few rusty areas, plus picked up a rear end out of a S-10 from a local junk yard (disc brakes, posi, 3.73). Since the next step as far as mechanical work goes is to get the thing rolling and I really need the springs I ordered which take 2 to 4 weeks to be delivered, I figured we would start working on cleaning up the cab.

We pulled out all the old wiring, gauges, fuel tank, glove box, radio, etc. and started removing rust from the dash with some steel wool. My current thought is to basically buff the dash down to partly bare metal, part paint, part rust, then clear coat it. Figure that would give it the look we are wanting for the overall truck. If that doesn't end up working, guess we will just have it painted.
