This comes up from time to time. The 4X4 Panels in 67 were the rarest production number wise. Keep in mind also that there are probably almost as many shortbeds running around as were ever built since so many have been shortened.
I think the best way I have ever heard it put was right here on the BB.I don't remember who posted this but here's how they put it.

"There's a difference between rare and desirable, for instance, It's rare that I crap my pants but it's never desirable."
